The Espazzola is a professional tool for cleaning group-heads of espresso machines. It is mounted into the group-head like a portafilter and uses the hot water from the machine for a thorough and comprehensive removal of all coffee residues. Instead of brushing out the group-head by hand, simply wash the dirt away. And that to the last corner!
WILL THE ESPAZZOLA FIT INTO MY MACHINE?
In the development of the Espazzola, great importance was placed on the fact that it can be used in group-heads with geometries as diverse as possible. Most professional and semi-professional machines are suitable for use with the Espazzola. To be sure, check the portafilter of your machine for these features:
The portafilter must feature two (not three!) cams or 'ears'. The size, thickness and position of the cams generally is not important. Important dimensions to check on your grouphead
The portafilter must have an open diameter between 57mm and 59mm. Often it is easier to check the diameter on the tamper: something between 56mm and 58mm is good!
Machines that are exceptional to the rule above:
- Lelit 50s (Anna, Anita, Gilda or Diana): The outer rim of the group-head is too narrow.
- Lelit Vip (Grace or Victoria): The outer rim of the group-head is too narrow.
- GRAEF (all machines): The outer rim of the group-head extends down at the back.
- Breville BES980XL: The hot water outlet is located behind the group-head.
